Geisinger Medical Center is seeking an Radiologic Technologist specialized in CT for evening shifts. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

  • ARRT or NMTCB certification required at hire; new grads must obtain ARRT-R or NMTCB prior to first day.
  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Eligible for certification advancement within 24 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct patient identification and exam readiness with proper history.
  • Apply imaging protocols and optimize factors while ALARA.
  • Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
  • Evaluate image quality and verify data storage and transfer.
  • Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
  • Assist licensed practitioner with interventional CT procedures.
  • Perform CT procedures as prescribed.

Job Summary

$15,000 Sign on bonus for eligible applicants!

Job Duties
  • Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
  • Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
  • Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
  • Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
  • Assisting a licensed practitioner with interventional computed tomography procedures.
  • Performing computed tomography procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
  • Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
Position Details

Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) OR Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) need upon hire. New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry or NMTCB prior to first day of employment. Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to level 2, including advanced certification, within 24 months of hire.
