Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to perform CT exams and related duties. The role includes quality control, order verification with radiology, and patient screening for contrast contraindications.

You will interact with nursing staff, maintain compliance, and participate in on-call rotations as needed, contributing to safe, accurate imaging across hospital services.

Qualifications

• Must have current BCLS certification.
• 2 years prior Computed Tomography and/or Radiographer experience preferred.
• Membership in related professional organization preferred.
• Must demonstrate commitment to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Performs all Computed Tomography exams.
• Performs quality control procedures as required by the manufacturer.
• Evaluates orders, verifies with radiologist if needed, ensures correct exam is performed.
• Screens patients to ensure no contraindications for oral or IV contrast.
• Interacts with hospital staff regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts; assists in resolutions.
• Routinely works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and on-call when needed.

Education

Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology

Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas

ARRT Certification (R) in Radiology

ARRT Certification(C) in Computed Tomography
