Job summary

HCA Florida South Shore Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT examinations and manage contrast administration. The role supports patient care on a Thursday–Saturday schedule from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm on site in Sun City Center, FL.

On-call and call-back responsibilities may be required to ensure timely, high-quality imaging services. Candidates should be experienced, patient-focused, and able to document procedures accurately in MEDITECH.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency plus college/technical training.
• Valid ARRT (CT) certification.
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and/or lifting up to 100 lbs.
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience as a CT Technologist, preferably in an acute-care hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate technical factors for each study and perform accurate, compassionate CT examinations.
• Demonstrate thorough operational knowledge of the CT scanner, pressure injector, resuscitation equipment, laser filmer, and teleradiology system.
• Assist with the administration of contrast media and related procedures.
• Position, transfer, and prepare patients securely and with modesty, using auxiliary equipment as needed.
• Document clinical information, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields in MEDITECH accurately and on time.
• Capture high-quality images, ensuring only optimal studies are submitted for interpretation.
• Maintain proficiency with software protocols and stay current through in-service training, courses, or seminars.
• Communicate proactively with patients, radiologists, and other caregiving colleagues.
• Check equipment operation, maintain cleanliness, and keep the room stocked with linens and supplies to prevent contamination.
• Accept on-call and call-back duties as needed to provide optimum patient care.
