Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specializing in CT to join our Minneapolis area imaging team. You will perform CT procedures under radiologist supervision, ensuring accuracy, patient comfort, and procedure safety.

Qualified applicants will be graduates of an accredited radiologic technology program with ARRT registration and current BLS. This on-site role offers a comprehensive benefits package and a starting bonus for external hires.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT registration or advanced registration preferred.
• Current BLS certification required or from Red Cross/Allina training.
• Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures per physician orders and department guidelines.
• Identifies patient with two identifiers.
• Documents all aspects of the procedure.
• Communicates with patient, addressing needs.
• Maintains a safe procedure area.
• Operates diagnostic equipment accurately.
• Gathers information to aid image interpretation.
• Verifies imaging transferred to storage/retrieval system.
• Uses Excellian EMR.
• Understands imaging PACS/EMR systems.
• Ensures post-procedure documentation is complete.
• Communicates with supervisor and team; assists others.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Graduate of Accredited School of Radiologic Technology

ARRT certification (preferred)

Current BLS certification

Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Performs and assists with procedures in Computerized Tomography (CT) scanning under the direction of the radiologist, providing timely and quality services to patients. Follows Imaging Department policies to maintain a safe, efficient and economical environment. Interacts with patients to welcome, explain and respond to questions and concerns during and following the procedure.

Principle Responsibilities

• Completes procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines
  • Identifies patient with two identifiers.
  • Documents accurately all needed aspects of the procedure.
  • Observes and communicates with patient, responding to needs.
  • Maintains safe patient environment in procedure area.
• Performs procedures with high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of all diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintains work knowledge and competence.
  • Gathers all relevant information to assist in interpretation of images.
  • Verifies all imaging has appropriately transferred to imaging storage and retrieval system.
• Provides accurate clerical function
  • Uses Excellian (electronic medical record).
  • Understands the Enterprise Medical Imaging/Picture Archiving and Communication System.
  • Ensures all documentation is complete post procedure.
• Communicates with Supervisor and team
  • Reporting problems, issues or ideas.
  • Provides assistance, ideas, information to support the work of others.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Radiologic Technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Registration in American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• 1 year of cardiac CT experience preferred for applicants to Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute locations

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
• Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Physical Demands

• Medium Work*:
• Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently
• $7,500 Starting Bonus available to eligible external talent**
• Baylor - 12-hour permanent nights
• Schedule: 8pm-8am
• Work 24 hours, paid for 36

Pay Range

Pay Range: $39.85 to $56.00 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
