Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology with experience preferred.
  • Licensed Radiographic Technologist by IEMA, CPR certified, ARRT certified.

CT Technologist - Advocate Sherman Hospital

Major Responsibilities

  1. Determines appropriate technique and patient position using isocenter, immobilization, and support devices to ensure optimum image quality.
  2. Operates advanced and sophisticated state-of-the-art CT equipment, HIS/RIS, and PACS.
  3. Provides patient care with a “Service First” approach in accordance with departmental standards of quality improvement.
  4. Assists the CT lead and manager with image quality activities.
  5. Maintains a secure and safe environment by being aware of safety hazards.
  6. Develops leadership skills and professionalism through participation in department/hospital committees and continuing education.

Education/Experience Required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Prior experience with various age groups is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and perform sophisticated procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and confidence in radiology procedures.
  • Good teamwork, communication skills, and leadership abilities.
  • Licensed Radiographic Technologist by IEMA, CPR certified, ARRT certified, and CT certification within one year of hire.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Exposed to radiation; able to operate CT equipment; communicate with patients.
  • Flexible work hours, including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-backs.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds; perform patient handling with equipment when necessary.
