Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a CT Technologist to produce diagnostic CT images per established protocols while delivering appropriate patient care. You will ensure patient safety, perform contrast injection under supervision, and maintain accurate exam verification within the RIS/PACS systems.

Qualifications include graduation from a radiologic technology program, NYS radiologic license with injection, BLS, and ARRT CT certification (or within 1 year).

Qualifications

• Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology.
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
• ARRT CT Certification or acquire within 1 year of hire.
• 1–2 years CT experience preferred.
• Valid NYS Radiological License with Injection.
• BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates timely throughput for CT patients and prioritizes exams.
• Identifies patient and verifies exam details, assesses pregnancy risks.
• Explains procedures to patients with professionalism and compassion.
• Performs IV cannulation using aseptic technique and conducts iStat testing.
• Positions patients for optimal CT images with accurate protocol selection.
• Operates power injectors under supervision for contrast administration.
• Maintains radiation safety and uses post processing workstations.
• Verifies exams in RIS and archives to PACS with accurate labeling.
• Cleans, disinfects scanner and rooms, stocks as needed.
• Schedules upcoming exams and flags contraindications, revising orders as needed.
• Coordinates patient care and communications with nursing units; ensures confidentiality.

Education

Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience

ARRT CT Certification or acquire within 1 year of hire
