Job summary

UAB Medicine invites a Radiologic Technologist specialized in Computed Tomography to join our radiology team at UAB St. Vincent's Freestanding ER. The role supports fast-paced inpatient and outpatient imaging with collaboration across departments.

We offer a 7on 7off schedule (11:00 AM–9:30 PM) and a compensation package with a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 for eligible positions, plus benefits. A strong emphasis on patient care and professional growth is highlighted.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date or transfer date.
• ARRT CT certification or CNMT/NMTCB variants accepted before hire date.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Fundamental CT imaging protocols and radiation safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures for diagnosis according to radiologist protocols.
• Position patients and select parameters accurately.
• Administer contrast media per scope and regulations.
• Observe patient during procedure and ensure safety throughout.

What You Will Do

Perform computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists.

• Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Observe patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
• Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy specialty also accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • NMTCB(CT) Computed Tomography Specialty Certification or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography required in addition to CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology required
