Serendipity Staffing Solutions is currently seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team. Operating under the general supervision of a Radiologist, you'll play a vital role in conducting computed tomography (CT) procedures for both ambulatory and hospital patients. These procedures are specifically requested by physicians or other licensed providers to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and injuries. Your expertise will be crucial in following established protocols to ensure accurate and efficient medical imaging services.
Responsibilities :
- Conducts high-quality CT procedures according to the exam protocol in a timely manner, ensuring the production and quality of imaging procedures adhere to established standards and procedures.
- Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service requirements, ensure the correct exam is performed on the right patient, and establish rapport. Provides instructions and communicates with patients and their families regarding the test, assessing the patient's ability to tolerate the exam.
- Prepares the patient and the area for the procedure by positioning the patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into the specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Ensures patient and employee safety by adhering to safety requirements, infection control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques. Utilizes proper sterile techniques for setting up and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements.
- Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Collaborates with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or the appropriate department and assists in maintaining supplies inventory.
- Screens individuals according to approved policies and procedures to ensure the safety of entering the department.
- Obtains, verifies, and maintains all relevant documentation, such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, policies, and procedures, etc.
- Maintains medical imaging records in the appropriate system and follows department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.
Requirements :
- Capability to perform high-quality CT procedures according to the exam protocol in a timely manner.
- Effective communication skills to explain procedures and reassure patients.
- Timely, accurate, and cost-efficient provision of services in compliance with established system and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work autonomously without routine oversight.
- Maintains a calm and helpful attitude, even under stress, and takes appropriate steps to resolve issues.
- Proficiency in administering first aid and using an emergency cart.
- Ensures customer satisfaction by minimizing wait times, providing courteous service, maintaining professionalism, reviewing patient satisfaction scores, and developing action plans when required.
- Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge, continued education, and skills appropriate for various age groups: newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric.
- Ability to serve as a preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.
Qualifications :
- Education: Graduation from an Accredited Program.
- Experience: Less than 1 year of experience.
Certification / License / Registration :
- ARRT-CT Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT): Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography (CT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS required within 30 days of hire/transfer.
- Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT): Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
- ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Tech (ARRT-N), ARRT-R Radiography (ARRT-R), Cert Nuclear Med Tech (CNMT): Must also be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography (R) or in Nuclear Medicine (N) or by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Tech (CNMT).
