Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cat Scan Tech produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas in accordance with established practices and procedures.

• Performs Computerized Tomography Scans following protocols outlined and provided by Radiologists.

• Review of physician orders and diagnoses prior to scanning, will discuss with Radiologist as needed
• Reviews appropriate Lab values prior to administration of IV Contrast.
• Utilization of iSTAT to obtain Lab results.
• Use of power injector for contrast administration.
• Perform Scanner Quality Control testing as needed.
• Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns
• Assists physicians with invasive procedures
• Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers
• Currently licensed through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with advanced certification in CT or must obtain advanced certification through ARRT within 12 months of hire date.
• Current state licensure or permit to practice medical imagining
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment

• Certification: BLS and ARRT must be maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital
