SUMMARY: Provide quality CT and/or Radiology studies as ordered byInterMedphysicians and externalphysicianusing proper technique and professional interpersonal skills.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce CT Images and/or Radiology Images of consistent ly high quality by using proper techniques in the following areas:
- Proper adjustment of equipment
- Appropriate positioning of patient
- Proper determination ofkVpandmAs
- Arranging,attachingor adjusting immobilization andsupportive devices such as sandbags to obtain precise position,minimizing patient discomfort while preventing motion
- Adjustment of protective lead shields
- Utilizationof primary beam collimation for every exam
- Application ofappropriate CTprotocolwith regard todose reduction
- Adherence to Radiation Protection Guidelines - ALARA principles
- Competency in Pediatric and adult studies asdeterminedby protocol manuals
- Gather all information necessary for successful studyi.e.additionalpatient history
- Maintain imaging/scan room and work area in clean organized fashion
- Report problems with equipment andassistin resolution
- Observe universal precautions and other necessary safety procedures such as asking women ofchildbearingage aboutpossible pregnancies
- Assist with QA by gathering and reporting any necessary data
- Radiology: Track all repeat & rejects for quarterly analysis
- Radiology: Display necessary technique charts
- Maintain all supplies and place orders as necessary
- Maintain certification with American Registry of Radiologic technologists
- Maintains strict confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) guidelines andInterMedpolicies.
- Perform other duties to support the mission,visionand values ofInterMed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of AMA accredited radiology programrequired
- Experience:
- PreviousCT and/or radiology experience preferred
- License/Certifications:
- State of Maine and AART licensesrequired
- Certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and advanced level certification (or eligible) in CT
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the physical and psychological needs of patients
- Maintains close attention to detail
- Ability to use independent judgement
The estimated compensation range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based onvarious factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Certain positions may be eligible for incentive compensation plansabove and beyondbase compensation.
