Job summary

Conway Medical Center is seeking a CT Technologist (CTT) to operate CT scanners and related equipment in a busy Emergency Department setting. You will ensure accurate imaging, patient safety, and quality control in line with radiation safety procedures.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, IV access, contrast administration, assisting radiologists, and coordinating with PACS. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this PRN role at our Socastee, SC location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology plus completion of an accredited CT program or CT program with on-the-job CT training (3 years of proven competence).
• ARRT radiology registration is required; CT registration required or within 18 months of employment.
• SCRQSA certification required; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families and provide excellent customer service.
• Position patients for CT scans with proper immobilization and protection.
• Assist radiologist with imaging procedures and start IVs, inject contrast.
• Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures.
• Evaluate CT image quality and transmit to PACS.

Position Summary:

The CT Technologist (CTT) will perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.

Qualifications:

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• CT Technologist through one of two ways required:
  • Completion of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology plus completion of an accredited CT program or;
  • Completion of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology plus on-the-job training in CT with 3 years of continued proven competence.

Experience:

• Previous CT experience in a hospital setting strongly preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Registered in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
• Registered in CT Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. (or certified within 18 months of employment.
• Certified under the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) required.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.
• Responsible for positioning patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
• Assist radiologist with imaging procedures.
• Start IV's and injecting contrast.
• Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures.
• Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label and transmit to PACS.
• Schedule patients for procedures.
• Assist with clerical functions and maintain accurate patient records.
• Provide orientation and training to new CT technologists and provides education and training to student technologists.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
