Job Summary

The Level 2 CT Technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography (CT) scans to produce detailed cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. This role requires accurate interpretation of physician scanning instructions, administration of contrast materials, patient positioning, and operation of CT scan equipment. The technologist must adhere to radiation safety protocols and assist with inpatient portable x-rays during overnight shifts. A minimum of two years of experience and current licensure and certifications are required.

Required Skills & Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an approved school for radiologic technology with advanced training in CT, MRI, and Interventional Radiography.
  • Current New York State license as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Current ARRT certification.
  • Certification by NYS for contrast injections.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
Preferred Skills & Certifications
  • Advanced certification as an MRI technologist.
  • Experience with inpatient portable radiography.
  • Strong physical stamina for maneuvering equipment and assisting disabled patients.
Special Considerations
  • Work involves exposure to radiation; strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
  • Must be able to assist with physically demanding tasks including patient transfers and equipment handling.
  • Weekend work required, including double shifts.
Scheduling
  • Weekend shifts only, with options for Saturday 4PM to 7AM and Sunday double shifts or Saturday 11:30PM to 7AM and Sunday 4PM to 11:30PM.
  • Shift assignments are predetermined based on weekend coverage needs.
