Job summary

HCA Healthcare in Nashville is seeking a CT Technologist to perform computed tomography scans and ensure diagnostic image quality. You will prepare patients, establish IV access for contrast, and operate the power injector while maintaining equipment and adhering to ALARA principles.

You will coordinate patient flow, document procedures, participate in on-call coverage, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to support safe and efficient radiology services.

Qualifications

• ARRT-CT and ARRT-R certifications required.
• BLS/CPR within 30 days of employment.
• Associate degree in radiologic technology.
• One year of post-graduate experience preferred but not required.

Job description

A CT Tech, or Computed Tomography Technologist, performs CT scans, ensuring the highest level of customer service and image quality while managing the entire patient procedure. This involves preparing patients, which includes starting IVs for contrast administration and using the power injector, as well as retrieving necessary patient history and orders. The Technologist effectively communicates with patients, their families, physicians, and the radiologist, providing crucial signs and symptoms pertinent to the exam. They are responsible for coordinating patient flow, ensuring all daily exams are completed, maintaining equipment and departmental work areas, and upholding the principle of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) to minimize radiation dose. The role requires the completion of all documentation and contribution to after-hour coverage through on-call rotations, all while promoting quality improvement initiatives.
