  • Current State of Texas License as a Radiology Technologist.
  • Associate Degree in Applied Science – Radiology or hospital-based AMA approved program.
  • ARRT (R) or eligible; CT certification pursued within 12 months of eligibility.
  • Cross-sectional anatomy training completed.
  • 1 year of experience as a diagnostic technologist.

Responsabilidades

Job Description

The RT(R), with a focus on patient safety, is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice andin accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of theemploying health care institution or practice setting. The RT(R) functions under his or her own license and assumes accountabilityand responsibility for quality of care provided to patients and their families according to the standards of practice. The RT(R) demonstrates

responsibility for continued competence in practice, and develops insight through reflection, self-analysis, self-care, and lifelong learning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Practices technology founded upon theoretical knowledge and concepts, uses equipment andaccessories consistent with the purposes for which they were designed, and employs proceduresand techniques appropriately
  • Assesses situations; exercises care, discretion, and judgment; assumes responsibility forprofessional decisions; and acts in the best interest of the patient.
  • Acts as an agent through observation and communication to obtain pertinent information for thephysician to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient and recognizes that interpretation anddiagnosis are outside the scope of practice for the profession.
  • The radiologic technologist uses equipment and accessories, employs techniques and procedures,performs services in accordance with an accepted standard of practice, and demonstratesexpertise in minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, self, and other members of thehealthcare team.
  • The Radiology Career Ladder Radiology Career Ladder Policy is designed to recognizeprofessional excellence in relation to imaging. The policy outlines the process by which theemployee will be evaluated to ensure that the employee is meeting minimum job levelrequirements to maintain their current level on the career ladder, a mechanism for the employeeto advance up the ladder or for management to adjust their level down if the employee does notmeet the minimum requirements for their current level. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current State of Texas License as a Radiology Technologist.
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Applied Science – Radiology or trained in a hospital-based program (AMA approved)
  • ARRT (R), (CT) registered or eligible.
  • Must obtain ARRT (CT) within 12 months of being registry eligible.
  • Successful completion of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Must have 1 year of experience as a diagnostic technologist.
  • Total Joint & Spine Center initial and annual education: 1.5 hours

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.
