*Responsibilities*
Position Summary
Operates diagnostic equipment and performs a variety of technical diagnostic imaging procedures related to CT. Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre- and post-diagnostic care to completion of test. Performs complete diagnostic imaging tests including patient positioning, equipment calibration, and documenting findings, under the supervision of the imaging manager. Assists patients with basic care needs.
Position Responsibilities
- Performs CT exams according to departmental protocols under the Medical Director’s guidance.
- Prepares and ensures equipment is operational, safe, and functioning correctly.
- Troubleshoots equipment issues and contacts service providers as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness and infection control standards during and after procedures.
- Completes quality checks and maintains equipment logs.
- Ensures clinical supplies are stocked and ready for procedures.
- Participates actively in patient testing, including routine, urgent, and emergent requests.
- Verifies physician orders and ensures procedural indications are appropriate.
- Communicates with radiologists to confirm exam protocols.
- Provides patients with information about the diagnostic tests.
- Performs Point of Care testing and starts IVs following hospital guidelines.
- Completes image processing and documentation.
- Monitors and records radiation doses.
- Notifies radiologists of any significant findings.
Qualifications
Education and Licensure
- Associate’s Degree (preferred)
- Registered by ARRT (R) at hire, maintained current
- Registered by ARRT (CT) within 9 months of hire, maintained current
- Certified by the state of Texas – MRT within 9 months of hire
- CPR/BLS certification
Experience
- Previous CT Tech experience (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good dexterity and handwriting skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Pay Range
$40.00 per hour
