Role Description

The CT Technologist at Duke University Hospital is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, operating CT equipment, ensuring accurate imaging, and collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to support diagnostic and treatment decisions. The role also involves maintaining radiation safety standards, verifying patient identification and exam details, documenting procedures in the electronic medical record, and assisting in emergency and contrast-related procedures as needed. This is a full-time, on-site position based at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, requiring flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as department needs require.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess credentials from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with current, active registration.
• Candidates should possess skills in Radiologic Technology and CT imaging, including patient positioning, image acquisition, and equipment operation.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Radiology practices, clinical workflows, and collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Radiation Safety, including dose optimization and adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
• Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Medicine relevant to imaging, anatomy, physiology, and patient care.
• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology or CT program and eligibility for applicable state licensure are required.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to patient-centered, inclusive care.
• Previous CT experience in an acute care or academic medical center environment is preferred.
