Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is seeking a CT Technologist Registered to safely perform CT imaging procedures and provide exceptional patient care in the Medical Imaging Department.

Under supervision, you will ensure radiation safety, explain procedures to patients, and assist radiologists with imaging and biopsy guidance as needed. Join a dedicated imaging team at Conroe, TX.

Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
  • ARRT-R Radiography required.
  • RT Radiologic Technologist in TX required.
  • Associate Degree required.
  • Experience preferred, licensed new grads will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and proficiently perform CT imaging procedures according to policies.
  • Explain CT procedures to gain patient confidence and cooperation.
  • Maintain patient safety and monitor during scans.
  • Position patients correctly and use immobilization as needed.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor, Lead Technologist, Director of Medical Imaging, and Staff Radiologists, the CT Technologist is responsible to safely and proficiently perform computerized tomography imaging procedures and related patient care according to, government regulations, physician orders, policies and procedures of the Medical Imaging Department, and policies and procedures of the hospital.

What you will do in this role:
  • Understands and follows established radiation safety rules. Always uses appropriate radiation safety devices to protect self, others, and the patient.
  • Explains CT procedures to gain patient confidence and cooperation. Keeps patient informed of progress during the procedure. Remains at the control station during the scan keeping the patient under constant observation.
  • Consistently produces diagnostic quality scans without assistance or supervision. Uses good judgment in seeking assistance or supervision when it is needed.
  • Consistently uses correct scanning protocols. Shows ability to adapt imaging routines to special imaging situations. Has a good working knowledge of cross-section anatomy.
  • Understand tube heat precautions and considers slice and technique load on tube.
  • Consistently positions patients correctly and safely on imaging table.
  • Uses appropriate patient immobilization devices to prevent motion and repeat slices.
  • Takes necessary repeat slices without waiting to be told that they are necessary and without attempting to slip by poor films.
  • Takes appropriate precautions to prevent patient falls or injury. Insures that unstable patients are not left alone on imaging tables.
  • Properly sets up patient, supplies, and equipment before summoning radiologist to begin a biopsy or guidance procedure. Assists radiologists as needed during procedures. Is able to anticipate the radiologist’s needs and have previous films, supplies, and equipment ready for immediate use.
  • Has good working knowledge laser printer and film processor.
  • Can perform all types of scans independently with quality results.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support required
  • (ARRT-R) Radiography required
  • (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer in the state of Texas required
  • Associate Degree required
  • Experience preferred, licensed new grads will be considered
