Job description

Per Diem, Varied Shifts, Variable; Pay Rate=$55.62 per hour.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Computerized Tomography (C.T.) Technologist, with independent judgment and initiative, performs prescribed CT scan procedures and exams on patients, coordinating patient flow and the activities of the CT Scanner. Ensures that the ALARA principle is followed for all exams. Performs related duties as assigned.

Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide CT services appropriate to the age of the patients. Must be cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical. Competent to obtain images and perform CT scan studies with adults, geriatric patients, and children. Responsible for adjusting protocols as necessary and communicating instructions appropriate to the specific needs of the patient. Must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect in adult, geriatric, or pediatric patients.

The CT Technologist meets hospital continuing education requirements by enhancing professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, workshops, and association groups.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Certified Radiologic Technologist in the State of California in good standing.
• BLS Certification required.
• ARRT certification in Radiology; CT certification preferred.
• Six months to one year prior experience as a CT Technologist preferred.
