Job summary

HCA Florida JFK Hospital in Atlantis, FL seeks a CT Technologist to operate CT imaging equipment, prepare patients, and produce high-quality diagnostic images.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• ARRT Registered Radiographer with state radiologic technician licensure.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Imaging.
• One year CT experience preferred.
• Florida DOH General Radiographer and ARRT CT Registry or registry eligible within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Determine most suitable posture/position and shield patients accordingly.
• Collaborate with physicians and Imaging staff as needed.
• Practice aseptic/sterile technique for all procedures.
• Work within CT Tech scope of practice per policy and procedures.
• Follow infection control measures and CT department guidelines.
• Complete required documentation immediately after each case.

The CT Technician works in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting performing a variety of CT Scan imaging procedures used to diagnose medical conditions. You will operate the CT scan equipment to produce quality images for detecting pathology and abnormalities in patients. You will obtain consent, prepare patients, and explain the procedure to them. The patient population may range from newborn to geriatric.

• Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Determine most suitable anatomical posture/position and shield patients accordingly
• Collaborate with physicians and other Imaging staff as needed
• Practice aseptic/sterile technique for all procedures
• Work within the CT Tech scope of practice according to policy and procedures
• Follow all general infection control measures and those specific to the CT scan department
• Complete required documentation accurately immediately after completing each case

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
• State Registered Radiologic Technician
• Vocational School Graduate, or High School Graduate / GED
• Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Imaging
• One year of experience in performing CT preferred
• Florida State DOH General Radiographer and ARRT CT Registry or registry eligible and acquire within six months of hire
