Summary
The CT Technologist performs all CT procedures to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body by proper positioning of the patient for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs, adhering to ALARA and Image Gently guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Performs all CT procedures to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body by proper positioning of the patient for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs, adhering to ALARA and Image Gently guidelines.
- Administers contrast materials and prepares and operates the CT scan equipment and ancillary equipment.
- Follows all safety procedures.
- Performs clerical duties in RIS, PACS, and hospital computer systems as required.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
- Assists in diagnostic x-ray as an x-ray technologist when needed.
- Other duties as required.
Other Information
Technical Expertise
- Experience in performing CT images in a hospital x-ray department preferred.
2 . Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. RIS, PACS, or other related software is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Education: Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology is required.
- Certification: Certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Diagnostic X-ray is required. ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Must be licensed by the state of Ohio in Radiologic Technology.
- BLS certification required.
