Job summary

Akumin is hiring a CT Technologist for a PRN position at our Round Rock facility. The role centers on patient safety and performing high-quality CT studies, with responsibilities including communicating with radiologists, training new staff, and troubleshooting equipment.

Requirements include ARRT CT certification (or NMTCB alternative), state license, CPR, and a valid driver’s license. The position offers flexible scheduling and participation in our comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• State license in Medical Imaging.
• CPR certification.
• Active driver’s license for moves as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and perform high quality CT studies.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists and customers.
• Train new technologists or Patient Coordinators as needed.
• Troubleshoot CT scanner and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS).
• Maintain aseptic technique and pre-screen for radiation/contrast contraindications.

We are currently hiring for a CT Tech at our Round Rock facility. This will be a PRN position.

The CT Technologist is responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or PC's.
• Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT. If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry.
• State license. Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.
• CPR certification.
• Technologists performing mid-day moves. Active State Driver's License.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
• The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
