Job summary

Akumin Round Rock is seeking a CT Technologist for a PRN position to support outpatient imaging services. The CT Tech is responsible for patient safety and producing high-quality CT studies.

You will communicate with radiologists, train new technologists or Patient Coordinators as needed, and troubleshoot scanners and related equipment.

Requirements include ARRT CT registration, state license, CPR, and a diploma; teamwork and safety-conscious environment with opportunities for cross-training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
• ARRT CT registration required; NMTCB acceptable in lieu of ARRT if allowed by state.
• Active state driver’s license.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen will be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast.
• Produces high-quality CT images.
• Communicates effectively with radiologists and customers.
• Trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
• Troubleshoots scanner and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, etc.).

We are currently hiring for a **CT Tech** at our **Round Rock** facility. This will be **a PRN** position. The **CT Technologist** is responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators. **Specific duties include, but are not limited to:*** Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.* Produces high quality diagnostic images.* Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.* Trains new technologist and/or PC's.* Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).**Position Requirements:*** High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.* Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT. + *If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable in* *lieu of ARRT registry.** State license. + *Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.** CPR certification.* Technologists performing mid-day moves. + *Active State Driver’s License.** Strong customer service skills.* Organizational and multi-tasking skills.* Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs* The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.* All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
