Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a CT Technologist to operate a multi-brand CT scanner in a busy radiology department. Under supervision, you will perform complex CT procedures across adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients while maintaining safety and quality.

You will train students and staff in imaging techniques, collaborate with a team of radiology professionals, and assist in maintaining equipment and protocols in a teaching environment at The Miriam Hospital in Providence.

Qualifications

  • Must hold RI state Radiology license and CT supplemental license from the DOH.
  • ARRT registration in good standing.
  • Two years of formal training in Radiologic Technology required; ARRT eligible or certified.
  • Six months of hospital CT experience.
  • CPR certification from AHA, BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex CT procedures in a busy Radiology Department.
  • Operate CT scanner and related equipment with safety and quality focus.
  • Train fellow students and staff in imaging procedures and techniques.
  • Collaborate with CT Manager, Lead Technologists, and Imaging Coordinator.

Job description

SUMMARY:Under general supervision of the CT Manager, Lead CT Technologists, and the Imaging Coordinator according to established procedures, operates a CT scanner and related equipment in order to produce radiographs of any designated anatomical area. All essential functions performed in the position reflect age specific needs of the geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients. The core Success Factors include:Instill Trust and Value DifferencesPatient and Community Focus and CollaborateRESPONSIBILITIES:PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform complex procedures in CT in a busy Radiology Department.Assure quality resultsTrain fellow students and staff in imaging procedures and techniquesAbout the Department:Department of five scanners both GE and SiemensWork with state-of-the-art technology including use of GE Revolution Ascend , Ulrich CT Motion InjectorTeaching environment with training available for all types of cardiac imagingTeam environment with support staff assisting the technologist by transporting patients and performing ancillary dutiesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:BASIC KNOWLEDGE:Must hold a RI state Radiology license and CT supplemental license from the DOH.Must be registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT).Must hold a current CPR certification from AHA, BLS for Healthcare Providers.Two years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required, plus registration through the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists.EXPERIENCE:Six months' experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department, plus six months specialized training in the operation of the CT Scanner.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Work location is generally in the CT Scan area or satellite areas where there is little discomfort due to noise, dust or temperature.Exposed to radiation, but there is little chance of injury when established safety procedures are followed.Long periods of standing, along with walking, pushing potable equipment and lifting and positioning of patients is required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:None.

Pay Range:

$39.56-$65.28
