Job summary

Premier Health Partners is seeking a CT Technologist for the MVH CT Scan unit in Dayton. The role is part-time with a schedule of Monday/Tuesday mornings and emphasizes diagnostic quality CT procedures, contrast administration, and safety.

You will coordinate patient flow, support radiology operations, and educate patients about exams while ensuring accurate records and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology and required licensure.
• ARRT RT (R) registry; CT registry preferred.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• ODH licensure required.
• One year CT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician, following established protocols.
• Obtains patient clinical history and data for CT correlation.
• Implements screening and safety measures per CT policies; performs QC as required.
• Prepares and administers contrast media to patients per policy; maintains sterile technique.
• Assists Radiologist in special procedures and emergencies.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments to optimize time and satisfaction.
• Educates patients and families about procedures based on individual needs.
• Ensures records and reports are properly documented and billed.
• Maintains knowledge of emergency equipment and radiation safety policies.

Position Summary

Independently performs computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the CT scanner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities or at other facilities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Functions

• Performs CT procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates CT studies for technical image quality.
• Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the CT procedure.
• Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed CT policies / procedures. Performs daily and weekly QC as required.
• Prepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practices sterile techniques.
• Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
• Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
• Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educates patients about exam.
• Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, performs clerical duties when necessary, verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.
• Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
• Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.
