Job summary

HonorHealth is seeking a CAT Scan Technologist to perform diagnostic CT procedures under radiologist supervision. You will ensure accurate patient identification, safety, and image quality while coordinating with the team across the imaging department.

You will utilize RIS and PACS daily, administer contrast when required, and rotate through the CT suite as workloads dictate. ARRT CT licensure and related certifications are essential. Per diem options available based on department needs.

Qualifications

• 1 year general radiology experience required.
• Associate’s Degree in CT physics and cross-sectional anatomy preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• ARRT and/or CNMT/CT certifications with timelines to obtain licensure may be required.

Responsibilities

• Review patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient and procedure.
• Transport patients and assist positioning using safe handling techniques.
• Perform CT procedures and monitor patient safety and comfort.
• Administer contrast materials as required and manage adverse reactions.
• Utilize RIS/PACS and other image management systems.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily workflow for the department.
• Maintain equipment and perform quality control testing.

Responsibilities:

Job Summary

Under the direction of a radiologist, this CAT Scan Technologist performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned. Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package. Staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the network.

Essential Functions

• Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, Protocols procedure with radiologist as needed.
• Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment.
• PerformsCTprocedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient’s safety and comfort.
• Administers contrast materials as required.
• Able to initiate emergency response to contrast reaction as needed.
• Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required byCTprocedure protocols.
• UtilizesRIS,PACS and other, ancillary image management systems as needed.
• Plans, schedules, and coordinates daily workflow for the department's activities
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order. Performs and documents all required quality control testing. Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
• Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
• Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed.
• Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area. Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Associate's Degree in CT physics and cross-sectional anatomy - Preferred
• High School Diploma or GED - Required

Experience

• 1 year general radiology experience via employment or training - Required

Licenses and Certifications

Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRTLC) AZ Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)

OR

AZ Certified Nuclear Med Technologist (CNMT)

AND Certified CT Technologist (CTCT)

AZ Certified CT Technologist (CTCT). A Temporary license is acceptable at the time of hire. A permanent license must be obtained within twelve months from the hire date. - Required Current and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT(R in addition to ARRT (CT) within a year of hire. Licensure must be provided prior to start date

Current and valid NMTCB and licensure must be provided prior to start date - Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - Required
