Job summary

Kingman Healthcare is looking for a CT Technologist in Kingman, Arizona. You will perform diagnostic exams and studies under the direction of the radiologist to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include administering ionizing radiation, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an ARRT program with specific CT certification and current registration by the Arizona Department of Health Services. Available bonuses for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) Program.
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • CT certification through ARRT or required within 9 months of hire.
  • Current CT registration and licensure by the Arizona Department of Health Services.

Responsibilities

  • Administers ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes and positions X-ray equipment.
  • Monitors patient and equipment during procedures and documents occurrences.
  • Provides evidence-based care to prevent healthcare-acquired conditions.

Position Purpose:

Under the direction of the radiologist, performs diagnostic exams and studies to ensure safe, high‑quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
Evaluation and Implementation of Appropriate Care
  • Administers ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes, positioning the X‑ray beam and patient, selecting exposure factors, and initiating exposure.
  • Uses professional judgement to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes.
  • Selects the most appropriate patient care plan after reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient’s abilities and condition.
  • Selects appropriate shielding and immobilization devices.
  • Evaluates lab values prior to administering contrast media.
  • Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medications or insufficient patient preparation.
  • Reconfirms patient identification using two unique identifiers (Name and DOB) and verifies the requested procedure; verifies female pregnancy status when appropriate.
  • Able to recognize significant clinical information and historical facts from the patient and medical record that may impact the examination.
  • Monitors patient and equipment during procedures, accurately documenting start and stop times, patient reactions, and reporting concerns immediately to supervisor.
  • Documents patient and exam occurrences in the appropriate imaging software database.
Quality of Care
  1. Provides evidence‑based care to prevent healthcare‑acquired conditions and hospital readmissions.
  2. Practices standard precautions during patient contact and when handling contaminated materials.
  3. Complies with CDC hand hygiene guidelines, working to reduce hospital‑acquired infections and other conditions.
  4. Complies with all regulatory, organizational, departmental statutes, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
Required Education
  • Graduate of an American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) Program
Required Certification
  • BLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • CT certification through ARRT or required within 9 months of hire
Required Licensure
  • Current CT registration and licensure by the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS)
  • Current registration and licensure by the ARRT
Preferences
Education

Education preferred from an educational institution approved by ARRT, Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT), or the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Special Position Requirements

Exposure Category I: Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.

Other potential hazards include exposure to chemical, biological, and radioactive substances and possible exposure to hostile individuals.

Work Requirements
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, compliant with KHI vision, mission, and values.
  • Able to manage technical business equipment (phone, fax, computer, etc.).
  • Able to assist with the movement/manipulation of a patient and equipment weighing up to and over 300 lbs.
  • Able to care for patients with infectious diseases.
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, and bend for the duration of the scheduled shift.
  • Able to demonstrate concentration and visual and auditory acuity to watch monitors and follow instructions during exams.
