Job summary

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery, seeks a Physician Assistant to join the Murrieta team. The role covers 1st or 2nd assist in all cardiac surgeries for adults and children, plus wound closures and related tasks.

You will maintain BLS/ACLS and CA PA licensure, with Monday–Friday hours and some weekend call. Compensation ranges from $150,000 to $240,000 base, with additional productivity in some departments.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant in cardiovascular care.
• Certification as a PA-C and ongoing BLS/ACLS upkeep required.
• Licensed by the California State Physician Assistant Board.
• Experience with vein graft harvesting and endoscopic vein harvesting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiac procedures (adult and pediatric) as 1st or 2nd assistant.
• Perform wound closures, suturing, balloon and chest tube work.
• Maintain certifications and participate in quality assurance conferences.
• Regular Monday–Friday schedule with at least one weekend call per month.

Job description

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team at our Murrieta location.

This opportunity includes 1st or 2nd assistant for all cardiac surgical procedures (both adult and pediatric), wound closures, suturing, balloon and chest tube insertion/removal and management.

1+ years of experience required. Experience with harvesting saphenous vein grafts, harvesting radial arteries, and endoscopic vein harvesting is required.

Specific Job Duties

• Regular work hours are Monday through Friday
• Weekend call will be a minimum of one weekend per month
• Must be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (PA-C)
• Must maintain BLS and ACLS certification
• Must be licensed by the California State Physician Assistant Board
• Will be a part of quality assurance conferences

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $150,000 - $240,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
