Qualifications

  • One year of experience as a CT Technologist is essential.
  • Must possess a Radiologic Technologist License.

Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, 585 Lebanon St, Melrose, MA 02176

Job Profile Summary

This role involves using various imaging techniques to aid in diagnosis and treatment. It focuses on performing CT scans, utilizing CT technology to produce images of internal organs, bones, and soft tissues. The role requires specialized knowledge gained through vocational education, training, and experience, primarily applied to patient care or scientific/laboratory jobs. It is an experienced level role requiring basic knowledge of procedures and tools, working under moderate supervision, with routine problem-solving and communication responsibilities.

Job Overview

Under the supervision of the CT Supervisor and Radiologist, performs CT procedures following radiological standards to ensure safety, accuracy, and timeliness, aiding in diagnosis. The role requires independent judgment, initiative, and responsibility for designated areas, maintaining supplies, improving relationships with customers, and participating in quality improvement efforts.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine or Radiological Technologist program
  • One year of experience as a CT Technologist
  • Radiologic Technologist License
  • American Registry of Radiological Technologist (AART) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification (NMTCB)
  • Licensed by the Massachusetts Radiation Control Board
  • CT Advanced Registry from AART or registry eligible
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Duties and Responsibilities

The following are general duties; other tasks may be assigned:

  • Follow exam protocols, produce quality studies efficiently
  • Operate all department equipment or request training
  • Prepare and warm up CT scanner, run QA, manage injectors and PACs
  • Complete CT procedures effectively, providing feedback and maintaining cleanliness
  • Adjust images according to specifications, create reformatted images
  • Select scanning levels based on the exam
  • Ensure scans are properly identified and documented
  • Complete administrative tasks, maintain equipment, and assist with clerical duties
  • Report equipment issues, assist with patient identification and education
  • Participate in team and quality improvement activities
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, occasional sitting, walking, lifting 30-35 lbs
  • Manual dexterity for operating equipment
  • Sufficient hearing and vision for examinations and equipment monitoring
