Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a CT Technologist to produce cross-section images of patients for diagnostic purposes in Morristown, NJ. You will interpret physician instructions, operate CT equipment, and position patients to capture appropriate images.

Responsibilities include adhering to ALARA, evaluating image quality, and using EPIC, Radiant, and PACS systems for image management. Training on contrast administration and patient prep is required.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required for licensed technologists.
• Associate's degree in Applied Science in Diagnostic Radiology completed.
• State license or eligibility to practice diagnostic radiology required.

Responsibilities

• Position patient for CT exam following protocols.
• Operate CT scanner per ALARA standards and safety rules.
• Assess image quality for diagnostic adequacy.
• Utilize EPIC, Radiant and PACS to schedule and transmit images.
• Prepare and administer contrast material using power injector.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Radiology team.

Job description

Responsible for producing cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. Interprets a physician's scanning instructions, administering contrast materials, preparing and operating the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Interprets CT Protocols and correctly positions the patient for the exam.
• Operates CT scanner equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation standards (ALARA).
• Evaluates CT scans for technical quality.
• Utilizes EPIC, Radiant, and PACS to schedule and transmit images to the Radiologist for interpretation.
• Prepares and administers contrast material using the power injector.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required:

• Accredited educational program related to the radiology field and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Associate's degree in Applied Science in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Licensed by the State in Diagnostic Technology.

Preferred:

• CT Certification preferred.
