Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking an experienced imaging technician in Morristown, NJ, responsible for performing sonographic studies to assist in diagnoses. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma, be a graduate from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program, and hold an ARDMS certification. Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for using imaging equipment and ultrasound to form images of many parts of the body. They are trained to acquire and analyze these sonographic images. These images are used to help doctors diagnose and treat many medical conditions.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
2. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
3. Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.
4. Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
5. Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
6. Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
7. Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
8. Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Education:

• Graduate of Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

License/Certification:

• ARDMS required

Relevant Experience:

• The ideal candidate should have 2+ years' experience preferred
