CT Scan Technologist - Nights Sat-Sun-Mon

Primary Purpose

This position is accountable for performing quality CT Scan Imaging through the application of advanced technical knowledge while adhering to the standards set by Parkland Health and appropriate regulatory agencies. The shift for this position is Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, from 7:45 pm to 7:15 am, with premium shift differentials applying.

Minimum Specifications
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology and/or Computed Tomography (CT) Program.
Experience
  • Prefer two (2) years of experience performing Radiology procedures, but all experience will be considered.
Equivalent Education and/or Experience
  • Equivalent education recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) to be eligible for ARRT(R) and advanced ARRT credential exams.
Certification/Registration/Licensure
  • Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and/or Computed Tomography (CT).
  • If hired with ARRT (R) only, CT certification must be obtained within 1 year.
  • Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from Texas DSHS or Texas Medical Board.
  • Current Healthcare Provider (BLS Level) CPR card from AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
Skills or Special Abilities
  • Knowledge of CT equipment, Anatomy, and Physics.
  • Proficiency with computer software applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient-centered behaviors.
Responsibilities
  • Perform CT procedures, review physician orders, screen patients, and ensure safety and proper protocol adherence.
  • Interview patients, explain procedures, and assist physicians as needed.
  • Administer contrast material, monitor for adverse reactions, and complete documentation.
  • Perform post-processing, maintain equipment, and ensure quality assurance.
  • Respond to inquiries, communicate shift hand-offs, and participate in departmental programs and meetings.
  • Maintain professional growth, adhere to regulations, and develop internal controls for compliance.
Job Accountabilities
  • Identify process improvements, stay current with field advancements, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.
