Qualifications

PRIMARY PURPOSE

This position is accountable for performing quality CT Scan Imaging through the application of advanced technical knowledge while adhering to the standards set by Parkland Health and appropriate regulatory agencies. The shift for this position is Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, from 7:45 pm to 7:15 am, with premium shift differentials applying.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS
Education

- Graduate of an accredited Radiology and/or Computed Tomography (CT) Program.

Experience

- Prefer two (2) years of experience performing Radiology procedures, but all experience will be considered.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

- Equivalent education recognized and accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) to be eligible to sit for the ARRT(R) and advanced ARRT credential exams.

Certification/Registration/Licensure

- Must have current ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and/or Computed Tomography (CT).

  • If hired with ARRT (R) only, certification in CT is required within 1 year of hire.

- Must have a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) or Texas Medical Board.

- Must have a current Healthcare Provider (BLS Level) CPR card from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross Rescuer, or Military Training Network.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform CT procedures, review physician orders, screen patients for safety, and document changes as needed.
  2. Interview patients, explain procedures, answer questions, assist physicians, and ensure proper documentation.
  3. Accurately perform procedures, administer contrast, and monitor for adverse reactions.
  4. Conduct post-processing, maintain confidentiality, and monitor supplies and equipment.
  5. Respond promptly to inquiries, communicate shift handoffs, and distribute workloads equitably.
  6. Participate in performance improvement, attend meetings, and collaborate within the interdisciplinary team.
  7. Maintain equipment, quality assurance, and security of systems and data.
  8. Engage in professional development and stay updated with regulations and standards.
  9. Identify process improvements, stay current with industry developments, and develop internal controls to ensure compliance.
