Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in CT to perform all phases of CT scan testing on outpatients, in line with department protocols. Location includes float sites in Smyrna, Middletown, Newark and Helen Graham Cancer Center, with shift options in the 7:30am–4:00pm range and some weekend coverage.

Responsibilities include accurate patient study information, adherence to licensing and Joint Commission regulations, and assisting in student training.

Qualifications

• Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required.
• ARRT CT registry required within two years of hire.
• State licensure on Radiation Protection required.
• Associate’s degree required; must obtain AS degree within three years.
• Certification in CPR.
• Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.
• Completion of IV training course.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of CT Scanner Units and radiology systems.
• Performs CT procedures and quality control as defined by department guidelines.
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including Joint Commission.
• Completes all technical and non-imaging procedures within scheduled times.
• Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
• Assists in coordinating workflow and patient care activities.
• Obtains clinical history and consent.
• Verifies insurance pre-authorization before scanning.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and uses two patient identifiers.
• Assists in training students and new staff.
