Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Bluffton is seeking a CT Scan Technologist for the Nights shift at Bluffton Community Hospital. The role performs routine and emergent CT scans to aid patient diagnosis and treatment, with responsibilities spanning scheduling, filing, inventory and coordination with staff.

Ideal candidates hold ARRT CT certification, SCQRSA radiology certification, and BLS; 18 months to obtain ARRT CT registry may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1800 clinical hours in Radiography.
• SCQRSA Certification in Radiology required.
• ARRT (Radiography) required. Advanced ARRT Registry (CT) required within 18 months of hire.
• I.V. Credentials required within 6 months of hire
• BLS required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association)

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and emergent computerized tomography scans for patient diagnosis and/or treatment.
• Studies include invasive interventional procedures, 3-D reconstruction, vascular mapping and complex image manipulation.
• Maintains complete patient throughput: scheduling, film/file management, procedures, supply inventory, and documentation.
• Participates in department Quality Improvement activities and equipment quality control plans.
• Adheres to Corporate Compliance and proper coding; supports Mission, vision and values of Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Education

Two-year Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology

Graduate of AMA approved or JRC ERT accredited Radiologic Technology Program

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred

Description

Performs routine and emergent computerized tomography scans for the purpose of patient diagnosis and/or treatment. Studies include invasive interventional procedures, 3-D reconstruction, vascular mapping and complex image manipulation. Digital imaging and teleradiology transmissions are included. Responsibilities for complete patient throughput include, but are not limited to, scheduling, film/file management, procedures, supply inventory, general housekeeping, patient transport, documentation, and communication with family, physicians and involved ancillary staff. Participates in department Quality Improvement activities and equipment quality control plans. Adheres to Corporate Compliance initiatives, including proper coding, use of the charge master, and performance of Medical Necessity Checks. Performs in a manner consistent with the mission, vision and values of Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Maintains high professional and ethical standards as evidenced by successful completion of core competencies, clinical competencies, and behavior standards. Generally works under the direct supervision of the CT Manager, however, may work independently as required. Assumes responsibility for call and holiday coverage as needed. Additionally, dependent upon patient volumes and the needs of the Organization, employee may work varying shifts and/or assume these job duties at alternate sites within the healthcare system. Understanding that healthcare delivery is continually evolving, and departmental needs and goals are subject to change, responsibilities may be expanded or restricted at the discretion of the manager (or supervisor).

Position Requirements

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Two-year Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology OR graduate of AMA approved or JRC ERT accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
