Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a per diem Cat Scan Technician to operate CT scanners and produce diagnostic images at Jersey City Medical Center.

The role requires graduation from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registration, NJ license, and 2–5 years XRAY/CT experience; day shifts with weekend coverage. You will follow HIPAA, use HIS/RIS, administer contrast, and maintain equipment in a high-volume radiology department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience with XRAY and CT SCAN.
• Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions.
• Select appropriate patient information from the HIS/RIS system in accordance with HIPPA regulations.
• Administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to radiology.
• Follow departmental HIS/RIS system procedures and protocol to ensure orders are verified and processed correctly.
• Observe and report any malfunctioning of the equipment and notifies appropriate persons in case of missing or damaged equipment.
