Job summary

The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist-CT position is located in the Radiology department at the West Haven, CT location. This is a part-time role working 12 hours per week per pay period.

Qualifications

• A transcript must be submitted with your application.
• Education or degrees must be recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions.
• For foreign education, a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency must be provided with the transcript.

Responsibilities

• Transfer patients from stretcher or wheelchair to imaging table.
• Prepare room, equipment and material needed for patient procedures.
• Prepare oral and injectable contrast and other chemical mixtures as necessary.
• Follow prescribed protocols required to perform procedures and observe patients during procedures.
• Administer contrast material under the direction of the radiologist according to protocols.
• Maximize patient throughput through coordination with escorts, ward secretaries, and nursing personnel.
• Maintain clean work area and supplies; provide training to student radiographers and residents.
• Practice hospital safety, radiation safety, infection control and universal precautions.
• Responsible for the quality assurance of the image prior to transmission to PACS.
• Assist house staff in use of Carestream PACS and transfer images to network.
• Provide education to patients and families on imaging procedures.
• Clerical and file room duties related to patient care.
