Job summary

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is seeking a PET/CT Technologist to perform CT exams at Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging in Bethesda. You will prepare patients, administer contrast, monitor during procedures, and ensure safety and accuracy per protocols.

Requirements include ARRT registration, Maryland PET/CT licensure or PET with CT certification, CPR, and at least two years of PET/CT experience. Siemens Biograph Vision experience is preferred; Epic EMR familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

  • ARRT registration is required.
  • Maryland Board of Physicians PET/CT licensure required (or PET licensure with CT certification).
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of two years PET/CT technologist experience.
  • Experience with Siemens Biograph Vision systems preferred.
  • Experience with Siemens imaging equipment preferred.
  • Experience with Epic EMR system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and safety standards.
  • Obtain and document relevant patient history; prepare patients for procedures and administer oral and IV contrast.
  • Monitor patients during exams, respond to emergencies including CPR/first aid.
  • Verify patient identification and physician orders to ensure exam accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self.
  • Position and transfer patients safely to and from wheelchairs and the CT table.
  • Assist radiologists with CT-guided interventional procedures, including biopsies.
  • Review relevant laboratory results in EPIC to support exam completion.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and coordinate service needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and manage supplies.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm

  • Monitor patients during exams, recognize changes in condition, and respond appropriately to emergencies, including CPR/first aid.
  • Verify patient identification and physician orders to ensure exam accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Position and transfer patients safely to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and the CT table.
  • Assist radiologists with CT-guided interventional procedures, including biopsies.
  • Review relevant laboratory results in EPIC to support exam completion.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, report malfunctions, and coordinate service needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment, including equipment disinfection and supply management.
  • Manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting with frequent interruptions.
  • Support orientation of new staff and students and communicate effectively using hospital systems.
Education & Certification
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
  • Licensed PET/CT Technologist by the Maryland Board of Physicians required; OR licensed PET Technologist by the Maryland Board of Physicians with Diagnostic CT certification required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of PET/CT Technologist experience required.
  • Experience performing PET/CT scans on Siemens Biograph Vision systems preferred.
  • Experience with Siemens imaging equipment preferred.
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system preferred.
