Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital is seeking a CT/MRI Scan Technician Assistant to join the CT-Diagnostics Institute. You will assist in all aspects of the CT/MRI department, prepare oral contrast, enter exam data, and support a patient‑driven care philosophy.

This entry‑level role offers comprehensive onboarding and team support. Responsibilities include room setup, post‑procedure cleanup, patient assistance and accurate data entry for exams, while adhering to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross required.
• One year of experience in a healthcare related field OR current radiology student.
• Broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms before procedures.
• Clean rooms post-procedure.
• Assist patient with changing and comfort; respond to call lights.
• Discharge patient to appropriate destination.
• Verify patient ID and create bands.
• Schedule scans and monitor queue.
• Check exam orders and coordinate with patients and inpatients.
• Acquire, archive and print images via PACS and report malfunctions.
• Follow Radiation/MRI safety guidelines.
• Operate all equipment safely and professionally.
• Maintain ethical relationships with customers and coworkers.
• Assess patient readiness and provide education as needed.
• Provide instructions for tests/procedures and discharge.

As a CT/MRI Scan Technologist Assistant, you are involved in all aspects of the CT/MRI department operations, including department stocking, oral contrast preparation, exam data entry and more. In this role, you will promote a patient‑driven philosophy, exhibiting positive behavior that supports and enhances their care experience. This position is an excellent entry into the healthcare field at Cleveland Clinic.

A caregiver in this position works8:00am—8:30pm. 2-12 hours shift. Tue, Wed, Thur.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Assure rooms are set up properly before beginning of procedure.
• Clean rooms promptly post‑procedure.
• Assure patient modesty and comfort, assist patients with changing, answer call lights as appropriate and report any change in patient’s condition or behavior.
• Assure patient is discharged to appropriate destination.
• Check proper identification of patient per policy and create patient identification bands.
• Schedule scans and watch queue.
• Verify physician exam order, look at needs of patient and initiate communication and inpatient flow.
• Document patient history, conditions and any other pertinent information on requisition/history sheet and ensure all data is entered into the computer on day of exam, including nonprocedural changes, additional exams, and order revision.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS, when applicable knowledge in after‑hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork immediately reporting any malfunctions to Help Desk and PACS Administrator.
• Follow Radiation/MRI Safety Guidelines.
• Operate all equipment properly and with care.
• Maintain ethical and professional relationships with all customers, demonstrating cooperative efforts with coworkers and the ability to accept constructive criticism.
• Assess the patient’s readiness and need for learning, considering all aspects of diversity and inclusion.
• Determine the best methodology to deliver education and receive verbal feedback or return demonstration to validate learning.
• Provide verbal and/or written instructions for tests/procedures, diagnoses, and discharge when appropriate.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High school Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• One year of experience in a healthcare related field OR current radiology student
• Broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
