Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Radiology Department Supervisor to oversee daily operations in the CT Department at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. You will manage staffing, coordinate patient flow, and ensure high-quality imaging services across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role emphasizes leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and hands-on support to technologists. A strong background in radiology, two years of supervisory experience, and current BLS with ARRT credentials are preferred,

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date or transfer date.
• Credentialed in Cardiographic Tech, radiologic technologist specialty in CT, radiography, sonography, or ARDMS sonography prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activities of assigned staff.
• Coordinate and supervise daily staffing assignments and staffing levels.
• Train, coach, and evaluate staff on performance expectations; participate in hiring/termination input.
• Coordinate patient care with team to ensure effective and efficient outcomes.
• Assist with quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• May perform technologist duties as needed; create 24/7 coverage schedules.
• Perform diagnostics of systems when performance degrades or issues arise.
• Maintain supplies and perform quarterly audits of supply closets.
