Ochsner Health is seeking an Imaging Department Assistant to support technologists, nurses, and radiologists with daily activities. You will assist patients, navigate computer systems, and help transport x-rays and reports to departments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Knowledge of radiology procedures and technical language.
• Ability to travel throughout and between facilities.
• Ability to work flexible schedule (nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, on-call, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assists the technologist by escorting patients and assisting in their care.
• Navigates successfully through all computer systems to obtain necessary information.
• Observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during their stay in the imaging department.
• Transports supplies, equipment, instruments, charts, records, x-rays, and reports for the department.
• Maintains adequate supplies in exam rooms, handling of oxygen tanks, developing and copying films.
• Adapts behavior to the patient population and ensures privacy and clear explanations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
