Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. is seeking a CSU Test Engineer to join our team supporting the DOE’s Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This full‑time role is based in Oak Ridge.

Responsibilities include providing CSU project expertise, assisting in testing, planning, documentation, and environmental, health and safety compliance, and supporting commissioning and turnover activities. The ideal candidate holds a ABET‑accredited engineering degree, 5+ years CSU testing experience, U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship required due to federal nature of work.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Experience with Y-12 procedures, programs and processes.
• Experience as a CSU test engineer.
• In-depth knowledge of NFPA-70e.
• Experience in DOE/DOE-related environments with NQA-1 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide CSU project expertise, input training, and consultative support.
• Participate in testing, planning, turnover coordination, and quality control.
• Support commissioning and startup activities, including configuration validation and test planning.
• Schedule CSU execution activities and manage resources.
• Prepare equipment test records and pre-op testing binders.
• Coordinate with field engineers for component turnover.
• Initiate and track punch list development during testing.
• Ensure safety and compliance while meeting schedule and cost.
• Support overtime and diverse shift requirements.
