The CSU provides short-term care for patients experiencing an acute psychiatric and/or substance use crisis that could escalate to hospitalization. It serves as an alternative to hospitalization or as a step-down for transitioning between levels of care, focusing on stabilizing clients and addressing their mental health and substance use needs.
