Job summary

Clinical Management Consultants seeks a Certified Surgical Tech to join a mission-driven, 150-bed hospital in Northern California Wine Country. You will deliver patient-centered surgical care in a high-volume OR, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff.

The CST will maintain sterile technique, prepare instruments, manage counts and specimens, support efficient room turnovers, and participate in call, weekend, and holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) is required.
• Experience in a high-volume operating room is preferred.
• Familiarity with aseptic technique and instrument handling.

• Ensure instruments and equipment are available and functional.

The large, high-volume surgical services department operates modern OR suites designed for efficiency and safety. The surgical department has a diverse case mix including general surgery, orthopedics with total joints, cardiothoracic/open heart, endoscopy/GI, and close collaboration with the cardiac catheterization lab. The CST will thrive in a fast-paced environment that prizes precision, teamwork, and clear communication. Reporting to the Operating Room Nurse Manager, the CST partners closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative colleagues to deliver seamless care. Key duties include preparing and maintaining sterile fields, ensuring instruments and equipment are available and functional, and anticipating surgeon needs throughout procedures. The CST Surgical Technologist performs accurate counts, manages specimens, and supports efficient room turnovers to promote on-time starts and safety. Adherence to aseptic technique, infection prevention, and regulatory standards is essential, along with flexibility for call, weekend, and holiday rotations as needed.
