Job summary

AdventHealth Lenexa, KS is seeking a skilled surgical support professional to join our PRN team. This role provides patients with supportive care during pre-operative phases and assists with instrument handling in the operating room.

Requirements include technical/vocational education, an Associate degree preferred, and at least 2 years of technical experience. BLS certification is required; ACLS/PALS preferred. Pay is $45.50 per hour with 40-hour weeks.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients with supportive care during pre-operative phases.
• Collects and labels specimens obtained during surgical procedures.
• Conducts instrument counts prior to surgical procedures.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Conducts field preparation and maintenance.
• Ensures the operating room is sterile.
• Monitors and tracks instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Maintains surgical instruments in an organized manner.
• Assists the team with safe and efficient operating room turnover times.
• Other duties as assigned.
