This is a temporary-grant position.

Overview

If so, the South Carolina Department of Social Services has an excellent job opportunity for you.

Job Duties
  1. Perform general administrative duties for attorneys and child support specialists within the Child Support Services Division.
  2. Provide clerical support in court, including checking in customers, copying documents, noting attendance, recording outcomes, organizing files, reviewing orders for completeness, and filing orders with the Clerk of Court.
  3. Complete quality assurance checklists for orders, reviewing paternity, support, or modified orders to ensure accuracy and that medical insurance is addressed.
  4. Process administrative pleadings: print, sign, copy, and send pleadings to sheriff's departments and court appearance letters to custodial parents.
  5. Scan orders and documents received from administrative processes, rule, and judicial hearings into the OnBase mail system, ensuring correct electronic filing.
  6. Ensure proper handling of personally identifiable information (PII) to protect agency data and systems.
  7. Process faxes and virtual conference authorization forms, noting receipt in PACSS, scanning into OnBase, and forwarding to case managers.
  8. Maintain documents on computers using PACSS, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Assist with maintenance of office equipment, vehicles, and supplies, and organize work areas.
  9. Receive and process mail, noting certified documents in PACSS, forwarding, and scanning as needed.
  10. Perform Red Cross shelter duties as required.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

A High School Diploma or related clerical experience may substitute for it. Ability to type at 35 words per minute may be required for some positions. Must possess a valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle for field work. Applicants must fully complete the employment application; resumes are not acceptable in place of the application. If educational credentials qualify you, a certified transcript will be required upon job offer.
