Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to inspect, assemble and evaluate surgical instruments and instrument sets, ensuring sterilization quality. You will help maintain complete instrument sets and support efficient case carts.

Qualifications include CSPDT or CRCST certification and at least 1 year of related experience. The role offers a Monday–Friday 11am–7pm schedule, with bonus potential and comprehensive benefits for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• Currently certified as CSPDT or CRCST is required/strongly preferred.
• 1 year of applicable job-specific experience required.
• Licensure or certification can be used in lieu of education/experience where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble and evaluate surgical instruments and sets for quality.
• Operate sterilization equipment and ensure cleanliness and proper function.
• Decontaminate instruments and containers according to IFUs and protocols.
• Maintain inventory levels to support case carts and audits.
