Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited CS/SPD Technician course required.
• 3 years of experience in a central sterile department preferred.
• National certification CSPD (CBSPD) or CRCST (IAHCSMM) required.

Responsibilities

• Assure decontamination of instrumentation per manufacturer and AAMI standards.
• Act as liaison between OR and Sterile Processing to communicate needs for cases.
• Assemble instruments in order of importance and inspect for damage.
• Sterilize instruments per IFU and AAMI standards and document results.
• Assemble case carts and indicate missing items; perform miscellaneous duties as needed.
