Job summary

State of Tennessee’s Department of Correction in Nashville seeks an experienced CSIC Operator for the evening shift to monitor alerts and data feeds in real time, supporting rapid response and 24/7 situational awareness.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience with offenders or in policing roles; an FAA 107 sUAS license is required during probation. Some weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
  • At least three (3) years of experience with offenders/detainees in a policing/correction/parole capacity or related military policing experience.

  • Documents and reports findings in accordance with CSIC protocols.
  • Assists in intelligence gathering and dissemination for ongoing investigations.
  • Completes scheduled training to maintain operational readiness and licensure.

Who We Are And What We Do

The Tennessee Department of Correction operates and oversees 14 adult prisons across the state, housing some 21,000 offenders. In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state.

Job Overview

Operators are responsible for real-time monitoring of alerts, notifications, and data feeds to identify and respond to potential threats or incidents. They play a critical role in maintaining situational awareness and supporting rapid response efforts. The Intelligence Center is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Operators are assigned to a shift (mornings, evenings or nights). Schedules could possibly include weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitors alerts, notifications, and data feeds in real-time to identify and respond to potential threats or incidents.
  • Maintains situational awareness and provides support to rapid response efforts.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or an accredited GED and at least three (3) years of experience with offenders/detainees in the capacity of a police officer, correction, or probation/parole officer, or applicable military experience that includes military policing and detainee assignments.
  • Must possess an FAA 107 sUAS license or able to pass the FAA 107 sUAS licensing examination within probationary period.
Necessary Special Qualifications:
  • Be willing to and able to qualify with, carry, and use assigned weapons;
  • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age on the date of application;
  • Be a citizen of the United States;
  • Have a good moral character, as determined by investigation;
  • Complete a criminal history disclosure form in a manner approved by the appointing authority;
  • Agree to release all records involving their criminal history to the appointing authority;
  • Supply a fingerprint sample in a manner prescribed by the TBI for a fingerprint based criminal history records check;
  • Have no conviction for a felony or any domestic assault convictions or have been discharged under any other than honorable conditions from any branch of the United States armed forces;
  • Pass a physical examination administered by a licensed physician that is consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act and that relates to the essential functions of the position;
  • Pass a psychological evaluation administered by a licensed mental health professional that is consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act and that relates to the essential functions of the position;
  • Submit to and pass a pre-employment screening test for use of illegal drugs;
  • Possess a valid motor vehicle operator¿s license at the time of appointment;
  • Upon appointment, successfully complete all additional prescribed course of instruction at the Tennessee Correction Academy and any and all on-line training.
