Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking a Hardware Engineering Intern for the Client Solutions Group in Austin, Texas. Join a team that designs analogue and digital hardware, including peripherals, and help define future architecture for Dell client products.

You will incubate new technologies, develop POC specs, perform simulations and testing, interface with multi-discipline teams, and produce clear reports. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergrad program with graduation Dec 2027 or May 2028.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate computer, electrical, mechanical engineering, technology or CS program with graduation December 2027 or May 2028.
  • Solid understanding of MS Office and related productivity tools.
  • Hardware component and systems design and development experience.
  • Ability to create and analyze architectural and product specifications.
  • Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing technologies and processes.
  • Fundamentals of statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in design software: Creo, Fusion, ANSYS, Flotherm XT/Flotherm, Allegro or OrCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Incubate new products, technologies, or features enabling product innovation.
  • Develop POC and technical specifications for new products and capabilities.
  • Perform simulation, analytical analysis, design, and physical testing for computer hardware.
  • Interface with multi-discipline teams and adapt quickly to new technology.
  • Create clear, concise reports documenting investigations and activities.

You will:
  • Incubate new products, technologies, or features that enable product innovation
  • Develop POC and technical specifications for new products, features, and capabilities
  • Preform simulation, analytical analysis, design, and physical testing for computer hardware
  • Responsible for interfacing with multi-discipline teams; intellectually flexible and able to quickly understand and build upon new technology
  • Development of detailed, yet clear and concise summary reports of investigations and activities

  • Currently enrolled in a computer, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Technology or Computer Science undergraduate related degree with a graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience with MS Office and other software productivity tools: Word Processer, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Scheduling, etc.
  • Hardware Component and Systems Design and development experience
  • Ability to create and analyze architectural and product specifications
  • Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing technologies and processes
  • Fundamentals of statistical analysis
  • Proficiency in any of the design software: Creo, Fusion, ANSYS, and/or Flotherm XT/Flotherm computational fluid dynamics simulation software, Allegro, and OrCAD)
Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this position is: The pay range for this position is $29.60-$31.80.
