Job summary

RTX’s SE&TC Surface Radars & Sensors Center in Moorestown, NJ, seeks a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to lead I&T planning, lab scheduling, and cross-group coordination. You will ensure safety, compliance, and delivery of program objectives with a focus on systems integration and verification.

The role requires a STEM degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience, prior site leadership, and Navy program exposure.

Qualifications

  • Experience with technical and/or functional leadership.
  • Experience with systems engineering, system integration, system verification, and/or system test.
  • Experience with US Navy programs.

Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer.

In this exciting position, you’ll represent Raytheon as the go‑to leader, ensuring seamless alignment of team efforts with program objectives. You’ll take charge of planning and executing the Integration and Test (I&T) plan, managing lab schedules, coordinating resources, and addressing priorities to deliver outstanding results. Your areas of responsibility will include safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

What You Will Do

In this Systems Engineer Site Lead role, you will support the following types of activities:

  • Represent Raytheon as the onsite lead and aligning the team to program goals
  • Regularly interact with internal and external customers and partners
  • Respond to and report on issues and requests both within program and from customers and partners
  • Plan for and communicate site needs to various stakeholders
  • Coordinate efforts for all Raytheon resources at site, including:
    • Operation and execution scheduling to execute the Integration and Test (I&T) plan, including lab scheduling
    • Communication of issues and priority changes
    • Ensuring resources have proper training and site access
    • Ensure safety and maintenance activities are completed and documented, including defect tracking and resolution.
  • Interface with site facilities to coordinate any support needed

Some travel may be required to support program goals. Travel for this position is required, about 10%.

Qualifications
  • You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with technical and/or functional leadership.
  • Experience with systems engineering, system integration, system verification, and/or system test.
  • Experience with working with US Navy programs.
  • We Prefer Experience as a site lead, including personnel management and technical team leadership.
  • Prior experience with naval radar programs.
  • Experience working with external contractors.
  • Experience with or certification in Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Subject matter expertise with systems integration, verification, and validation.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply. However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require RTX to shorten or extend the application window.
